Lilac Bakery

My husband and I ordered cupcakes for our wedding and Lilac did an absolutely perfect job. They were so delicious and our guests were so surprised that vegan cupcakes could be so good. The communication was quick and clear, the presentation was lovely, and the food was excellent.

While searching for a place to order a wedding cake, I was recommended Lilac bakery. To test some of the cakes, It was suggested I order some cupcakes. Pictured left to right (top to bottom), I tried the confetti, salted caramel, vanilla, coconut, german chocolate, and strawberry cupcakes. Not pictured, I tried the gluten-free chocolate cupcake. I found the cupcakes to have nice flavors, with a not overly sweet buttercream icing, which I really like. My favorite was probably the strawberry, but the rest were really good as well. However, I found many of the cupcakes (except the chocolate batter ones, which were moist and fluffy) were quite dense, which may be from overbeating the batter (an easy fix with some quality control). The shop itself is very cute and clean, with nice staff.

Kassey created our wedding cake and it was absolutely beautiful and delicious! Kassey decorated the cake with fresh flowers from our florist and handled all of the communication including pickup of florals and delivery to our venue. Thank you Kassey and Lilac Bakery!

I ordered a cheesecake from their menu and during the process, I was presented with a lot more options than I expected to get a very specific cake that everyone would enjoy.

As per the pickup, it was within the time frame we agreed on, and there was parking right outside the door for me.

Lilac Bakery is one of my favourite bakeries in Winnipeg! Great selection of cupcakes, dessert bars, cakes and more. Staff is really nice and helpful, and everything is delicious. My favourite is the red velvet cupcake! Would highly recommend!
